On August 4, 2026, I underwent an apicoectomy at One Endodontics in Gainesville. It was a long and fairly aggressive surgery that lasted approximately two hours. First of all, I want to emphasize something very important: the receptionists and nurses were always very kind, courteous, and attentive to me. At all times, I felt that they treated me with genuine care and professionalism. Therefore, my dissatisfaction is specifically related to the care I received from Dr. Khalili, who performed my surgery. After the surgery, the doctor scheduled an appointment for August 11 to remove the stitches. During that week, I followed all of the instructions I was given exactly as directed. By the day of the appointment, the swelling had completely gone down, I had almost no pain, and I was very happy because I felt that I was healing well. On August 11, the doctor began examining the area and asked me how I was feeling. I explained that I was doing well and only had a little pain. Several times, he asked how many weeks had passed since the surgery. Both the nurse and I told him that it had been one week. Despite this, he began cutting and removing some of the stitches. During the procedure, I felt blood beginning to run inside my mouth. At that point, he again asked how long it had been since the surgery. Once again, we told him it had been one week. He then said that the surgical site was not yet ready for the stitches to be removed, that they should be cut at two weeks, and that he would leave it as it was so I could return the following week. What I do not understand is why he decided to cut the stitches. What concerned me tremendously was that several cut and loose stitches were left behind and were not removed. I asked him approximately three times whether leaving the surgical site that way could cause an infection. I also specifically explained my concern because I felt that the area had been left open. The doctor assured me that everything would be fine and told me to return the following week. After I returned home, I began experiencing pain again. When I performed the rinse I had been instructed to do, some of the loose stitches began to come out, and the rest came out the following day. I had avoided looking at the surgical site because I was afraid that it might open. However, because I felt that something was not right, I finally had to look. When I examined the area, I could see that the surgical site had opened and that the membrane they had placed was visible. In addition, a small bump had appeared on my gum that had not been there before. I became extremely frightened and immediately called the clinic. They instructed me to come to the office, so I did.When I arrived, the doctor examined the area and confirmed that it had indeed opened. I explained to him, quite upset and concerned, that this was exactly what I had been afraid of when I repeatedly asked him whether leaving the stitches that way could cause an infection. I also explained that I now had swelling or a bump that had not been there before. He simply placed stitches again and told me not to worry, that everything was fine, and that I should return in two weeks. As the days passed, the bump eventually burst, after which the surgical site opened again. Yesterday, I returned for my two-week follow-up appointment. The doctor asked me how I was doing, and I honestly told him that I was very angry, frustrated, and scared about everything that had happened. When he examined the area again, this time he confirmed that there was indeed a significant infection. His response was, once again, that I should not worry, that he could fix it, and that he simply needed to reopen the area, remove all off the infection. Now I have to go through another two weeks of recovery, and l am living with the fear that the usurgery will not heal properly and that I may have to go through all of this again.And the doctor ElMAN KHALILI needs to take responsibility for the mistreatment and lack of care.
Honestly one of the best experiences I’ve had when it comes to dental work. From the front desk staff, to the dental assistant, to the doctor — everyone was great and made the whole experience easy and comfortable. Good atmosphere, great care, and you can tell they actually care about their patients. And the noise-canceling headphones… great touch! Would definitely recommend them to anyone needing an endodontist.
Dr. Khalili and the entire staff at One Endodontics were a blessing to work with. They explained what they would be doing and that was a good thing as I had never before dealt with an abscessed tooth. Dr. Khalili helped me understand the importance of the antibiotics and rinsing protocols after working on the tooth root canal. I felt I was in good hands. The receptionist really helped my visit be better than I hoped and so did the doctor's assistant during the procedure.

On a referal from my dentist, I was able to get an appointment with One Endodontics within two days. I arrived for my appointment quite early but was taken in within a few minutes. A determination was made that I needed a root canal. and they were able to perform the proceedure immediately. The dentist and assistant were very attentive to my comfort. All went well and it is the next day, and I have very little discomfort. I recommend
